Roofing case study

This asphalt roof had unndulations, pimples and cracks. Water was getting under the asphalt as well as ponding on the surface.
Rooflight was suffering from wet rot.
The lead cover flashings were digging into the surface. The roof had been repeatedly repaired in the past it was now in need of renewal.
A temporary roof was erected and the asphalt was removed
The roof features100mm of PIR insulation to significantly reduce heat loss and polymer modified asphalt to give improved durability.
New concrete copings and lead flashings are provided and the parapet walls prepared for rendering
A sump area is formed and a new rainwater outlet fitted to improve the effectiveness of the roof drainage
A purposemade metal skylight with sealed unit glazing is fitted and the new asphalt treated with a solar reflective paint coating.
